Pawankalyan’s Katamarayudu has closed it business worldwide with a final distributor share of 62.15 Cr. The film a flop in domestic markets and a Disaster in USA. The film has costed a near 72.5 Cr in domestic markets for the buyers which accounts to a recovery of less than 80 percent.. Overseas buyers has lost over 6.5 cr which is more than half of the investment.

This is a consecutive failure for the hero as his last film Sardaar gabbar singh was a disaster. IT had collected a distributor share of 52.4 Cr .

Katamarayudu has collected a worldwide distributor of 60.75 Cr approx by the end of it’s 2nd week. This is the 9th Telugu film cross to 60 cr distributor share worldwide thus marking 3rd film for the hero to cross that mark which is highest for any in Tollywood.

No other hero has even 2 films. Despite all these, the film will end up as a flop at domestic box-office with loss for each and every area buyer and a disaster in USA. Theatrical pre release business of the film is valued for over 85 cr including expenses which means an over 20cr loss for the buyers. The film can add a maximum of 1.5 cr in it’s full run.

It has been more or less a disappointment in terms of the much anticipated movie Katamarayudu featuring power star Pawan Kalyan. However, the cine buffs are now nursing their grief through the success of another movie. It is Guru featuring Victory Venkatesh.

This sports drama came silently and struck a chord with the audience. Right now, the collections are in good momentum. As per latest reports, the first weekend collections stood at Rs 12.2 crores gross worldwide and Rs 7.17 crores share worldwide.

 

These are very big numbers considering the movie and its branding. The gross of the Telugu states touched Rs8.8 crores while the share stood at Rs 6.1 crores. The trade pundits are predicting that the collections will be healthy for the coming weekend as well.

Since the last two days, speculations are rife in industry circles that Pawan Kalyan and VV Vinayak are going to join forces for the first time. Reportedly, producer Bandla Ganesh is planning to bankroll a film with this crazy combination.

It is now learnt that the project is definitely on cards and Vinayak is said to be working on an intense social drama for Pawan Kalyan. Sources say that the project will go on floors next year, only after Pawan wraps up his current commitments.

It is believed that Vinayak is keen to work for a message oriented social drama that suits Pawan’s political image. Victory Venkatesh’s Babu Bangaram opened to full houses on Friday and as per latest trade reports, BB enjoyed highest openings in Venkatesh’s career.

 On the first day, Babu Bangaram collected more than Rs 5.5 Cr (Share) & around Rs 7.2 Cr (Gross) in the two Telugu speaking states with a total of Rs 9 Cr (Gross) and Rs 6.80 Cr (Share) worldwide. However, there is a dip in collections on the second day and the film minted about Rs 4.4 Cr (Share) & Rs 5.6 Cr (Gross) in the two states and around Rs 9.9 Cr (share) & Rs 12.8 Cr (gross) collections worldwide.

 Fortunately the long weekend (with Monday being a holiday on the eve of Independence Day) might add to the advantage of the film where the film is expected to mint around Rs 20 Cr in the first four days. Though the film couldn’t win with content, Venky has scored a solo commercial hit after a long while.
