Review: Nakshatram- Lousy Cop Drama

[review]

Nakshatram was in the making for over a year now. By now, everyone has lost interest in the film and are only waiting to see what Sai Dharam Tej and Sundeep Kishan do to save the film. Will they be successful, well, keep reading this review to find out?

Story:-
The city of Hyderabad is lit up with many terrorist activities and Prakash Raj is made in charge of the operation to nab the criminals. On a parallel note, Sundeep Kishan is the man who wants to become a cop but gets distracted because of a drug addict played by Tanish. Having no choice, Sundeep decides to become a cop by himself. But Sai Dharam Tej’s sudden entry changes things upside down and also spoils the terrorist mission. How this entire mystery is solved will be known only when you watch the film.

Cast and Performances:-
Starting with the bad guy Tanish, the young actor shows a lot of promise in a negative role. His screen presence as the villain is good and his dialogues with Tej are nice. Sundeep Kishan plays his role to the gallery. Everyone will relate to his pain and agony of him becoming a wannabe cop. Prakash Raj is loud as a senior cop and nothing new to showcase. Pragya Jaiswal is very impressive as the cop and even shows good glamor for the masses. Senior actress, Urvasi hams to no extent and so was Shivaji Raja.

Technical Department:-
Nakshatram is technically very weak and does not have the trademark Krishna Vamsi camera angles. Music is pathetic as all the songs are so loud that you feel suffocated. Screenplay and direction by Krishna Vamsi are so bad that the film dies only because of his over the top narration. He has killed the film to no extent with his over action and loud actors. The film goes for on and on and does not end irritating the audience. The plot is also old school.

Highlights:-
  • Full Skin show
  • Tanish
  • Sundeep Kishan

Minus Points:-

  • Logicless story
  • Lengthy run time
  • Emotionless plot
Summary:-

It is very sad to see a maker like Krishna Vamsi make a film this bad. Nakshatram is the veteran director’s weakest film to date and has nothing new to the audience. There is plenty of skin show in the film and this will please the masses but for the regular audience, it is a boring fest.

Review: Gautam Nanda – Same Old Story

[review]

So much was said about Gopichand’s Gautam Nanda when the film was launched. Today, the film has come a long way and has also released. Gopichand is back with a much needed new look in this film which promises to be a masala entertainer. Hansika and Catherine Teresa play female leads and Sampath Nandi has directed the project. How much did he succeed with this film, well, read on to just find it?

Story:-

Gautam(Gopichand) is a billionaire who spends his dad’s money and wastes a lot of time. In one of his parties, a waiter insults him and asks him what is his real identity without his dad’s money. This leaves Gautam dejected and he barges his car on the road and hits a pedestrian and injures him. To his shock, Gautam finds out that the man he hit(Nanda) is exactly the same as him. After discussing a lot, he gets an idea and asks the poor man to swap places. But he does not know that this will be a fatal mistake from his end. What is that mistake and how did he come out of it is the rest of the story of Gautam Nanda.

Cast and performances:-

Gopichand is seen in a double role for the very first time. He has got a good scope to perform and boy, he lives up to all the expectations. He scores full marks when he gets a transformation during the end and his performance is at its best in the climax. Luckily, Gopichand changes his look and this makes for a better viewing for the audience.

Hansika does not suit the role of a slum girl one bit but she tries hard to stay in the limelight. Sampath Nandi has designed a superb character for Catherine as the sensuous girl shines in both performances and in skin show. Mukesh Rishi and others have done their bit. The last fifteen minutes are good fun as both the Gopichand’s fight it out and this has been executed fairly well.

Technical Department:-

So much was said that Sampath Nandi has spent a lot and this shows on screen. The routine story is lit up only because of good production values which are nicely supported by Thaman’s background score. The first half has some fresh fun moments but the second half gets sloppy as time progresses.

The film’s major problem is Sampath Nandi’s direction which is below par. After choosing the basic story, he adds only a twist and that too during the last ten minutes and by this time, the audience is sick and tired.

Highlights:-
  • Rich Production values
  • Gopi Chand’s new look
  • Catherine’s bikini show
Minus Points:-
  • Outdated storyline
  • Predictable nature of the script
  • Emotionless plot
Summary:-

Gautam Nanda has old school storyline which you might have seen in many films. But Gopichand and the rich visuals make this film a below average watch. Watch it only if you have no serious work and that too with minimal expectations.

Review: Andhagadu – One-time watchable flick

[review]

Cast: Raj Tarun, Hebah Patel,

Banner: AK Entertainments Pvt Ltd

Music: Sekhar Chandra

Cinematography: B Rajasekhar

Art Director: Krishna Maya

Editor: MR Varma

Co-Producer: Ajay Sunkara

Producer: Ramabrahmam Sunkara

Story-Screenplay-Dialogues-Direction: Veligonda Srinivas

 Plot:

Goutham (Raj Tarun) is blind from the childhood. He works as an RJ in Vizag. One day he falls for Netra (Hebah Patel) and loves her by hiding the fact that he is blind. She finally comes to know about the truth and hates him initially but later helps him to get his vision. As days pass by, the understandings between them expire and their relationship grows. At such point of time, Ranjith Kulkarni (Rajendra Prasad) enters into Goutham’s life and makes it miserable for him. Who is Ranjith Kulkarni and how did his entry change Goutham’s life forms the plot of the film.

 Performances:

Raj Tarun puts an energetic performance in the film. Unlike his earlier films, he is calm and cool in this movie. Raj Tarun limited himself in terms of performance and did not attempt to go overboard which is an appreciable thing and is also an impressive effort from him.

Hebah Patel on the other side is cute and gorgeous. She makes a good pair with Raj Tarun. As usual, she has performed well in the limited scope she has given in the movie.

Rajendra Prasad played an important role in the film and his role has got a short duration but it leaves a positive impression. Shayaji Shinde, Satya, Ashish Vidyarthi, Sudarshan and others are good in theri roles. The rest of the actors made their presence felt.

Analysis:

The film starts off well with the introduction of the characters in the childhood. Many might be surprised why the director has given a lot of runtime for the childhood episode to establish the friendship bond between the friends and he answered it well in the second half. The film has a routine story but the way the director divided the film into the subplots has been pretty much interesting. Each subplot has got a good start and perfect ending and everything has been included in the screenplay in an impressive manner. The entire screenplay appeared in a structured format which is actually a positive thing for the movie.

The director Veligondla Srinivas has worked in the writing department for many hit films. He is already an established writer. That experience in writing has helped him in developing an interesting script for his first film. There are not many drawbacks in terms of the script but the only thing is the film having a routine plot and the treatment also looks conventional. The dialogues are impressive. The cinematography of the film is nice but the songs could have been captured well in terms of the visuals. The artwork is nice. The editing is good. The technical department worked well in giving a good output. The production values are also rich.

 Plus Points:

  • Comedy
  • Music
  • Screenplay

 Minus Points:

  • Routine Story
  • Predictable Narration

Review: Baahubali 2 – Brilliantly executed and largely engaging

Cast: Prabhas, Rana, Anushka, Tamannaah

Banner: Arka Media Works

Music: MM Keeravani

Story: KV Vijayendra Prasad

Cinematography: KK Senthil Kumar

Editor: Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao

Producers: Shobhu Yarlagadda & Prasad Devineni

Screenplay & Direction: SS Rajamouli

[review]

Easily the biggest Indian film of the year, Baahubali 2 is finally out for us to get entertained and take another trip to the magnificent world. An enthralling historical fantasy tale that shows how a royal family gets torn apart by sibling rivalry. This one is more extensive but is it as engrossing as the first part? Read to know more.

Story:

Baahubali: The Conclusion is the continuation to Baahubali: The Beginning. The film revolves around Shivudu, who in the pursuit of helping his love finds out about his royal familial ties with the legendary king Baahubali. Unfortunately, Baahubali was killed by Kattappa, Mahishmati’s most royal servant, Now Shivudu will avenge his father’s death, and fight it out with Bhallaladeva to take over the throne at Mahishmati.

  • Why Kattappa Killed Baahubali?
  • Did Mahendra Baahubali take revenge over Bhallaladeva?

The plot of the film Baahubali The Conclusion revolves around these two questions.

Analysis:

Director S. S. Rajamouli seems to have quite literally developed a definitive masterpiece, with Baahubali seeming to be a thoroughly Indian film with its roots firmly planted in mythology, and yet progressive enough to refrain from the age old cliché of show good is more powerful than evil. In fact here a special mention needs to be added as Rajamouli has focused on developing the antagonist as a much more powerful personality.

Prabhas is a powerhouse of talent and gives you an impression that no one else would play Baahubali better than him. Rana as Bhalvaldeva is as menacing as ever and shines big time. Where Baahubali 2 could have been better would be its finish line. Here a special mention goes to both Prabhas and Rana, for some outstanding work. The other two supporting cast members Nasser and Satyaraj as Bijjaladeva and Kattappa are impressive as well.

The climax fight is the most expected scene of the film but however one wonders that could have been dealt better. Seeing too much of elder Baahubali, reduces the weight in Shivudu’s character. That is one reason you may not enjoy the climax as much as the 1st part’s ending. The background score by MM Keravani was great.  Technically the film is brilliant as expected.

Talking about the CGI used in the film, Baahubali 2 is easily comparable to the Hollywood.  Every 15 minutes, you would have one kickass sequence which arrests your attention.  No Indian storyteller comes close to what S.S. Rajamouli envisions and executes on screen. Writers Madhan Karky, Rahul Koda, Vijayendra Prasad and S.S. Rajamouli have truly written and developed a masterpiece.

Every sequence of Baahubali 2 is a marvel that can easily be compared to the best of Hollywood. The grandiose sets, VFX, sound, edit, cinematography and most importantly, the screenplay of Baahubali 2 is beyond fantastic.

On the whole, despite having a second half that is rather slow, and a ballistic second half, a film like Baahubali 2 makes you proud that an Indian filmmaker dared to dream big and accomplished it. Baahubali 2  is definitely not to be missed. Call it a box-office blockbuster today, but tomorrow, it will be remembered as a classic.

Minus Points:

  • Unconvincing War Scenes
  • Comedy Track In First Half

Review: Mister – One time watch commercial entertainer

[review]

Sreenu Vaitla and Mega hero Varun Tej teamed up for an out and out entertainer titled Mister. The duo is in need of a decent hit to their credit, as their movie careers are going through rough patch with back to back debacles.

Amidst good buzz, Mister hit the movie screens today ( April 14th). Let’s see if the film brought the much-awaited good days to both Varun Tej and Sreenu Vaitla.

Story:

Chai (Varun Tej) lives in Spain with his parents while his grandfather Pichaiah Naidu (Nassar) lives in a village near Andhra-Karnataka border. Meera (Hebah Patel) on her five day visit to Spain, stays with Chai’s family and becomes his good friend. Chai assumes that she is in love with him, but to his surprise she reveals details about her boyfriend. Chai with a positive attitude takes ease of the situation and remains calm. Threatened by the brother of Meera, her boyfriend expresses his inability to marry her. Disappointed Meera seeks help from Chai, who upon arriving to India encounters with a village lady Chandramukhi (Lavanya Tripathi).

Both the lead ladies are in trouble from their respective relatives’ gangs. The rest of the story revolves around how Chai protects them. Another interesting aspect of the movie is the lady with whom Chai gets married.

Performances:

Varun Tej is super cool in this film, his styling need special mention. However, he needs to be more flexible in fights and dance movements. Hebah patel as Meera is fine and carried glamour quotient well in the first half. Lavanya Tripathi as village belle is just adequate.

Comedians Srinivasa Reddy, Prudhvi and Raghu Babu performed well. There are many villains who are impressive.
Analysis:

After a long gap director Srinu Vytla has executed scenes with panache throughout the first half. Scenes that happen in Spain are entertaining. The movie has his trade mark satires, punches and also a spoof on Nagarjuna’s Oopiri film. Vytla did not hesitate to show case self-parody.

However, as the interval approaches, there are too many villains involved. Adding to the woes there were many chases with hardly any impact. Out of three songs in the first half – Kadile Lokam Motham and Edho Edho Bagunde are good on screen. Especially Edo Edo Bagundhe song is superb on screen. Overall, first half impresses the audience.

As second half starts, Chandramukhi’s (Lavanya Tripathi) story starts and the movie graph goes down because her family is introduced as the successors of Sri Krishna Devaraya. The entire sequence in itself was weird. Songs in second half are ordinary. Sayyorii Sayyori is a fast beat number and Nee Meeda Manasayera is an item song which has some good dance moves by Madhu Sneha. Sankranti song is just average. Overall, second half is a typical commercial potboiler with no spark.

The major flaws in the movie is due to the presence of too many villain characters and sub plots. These acted against the movie which otherwise would have turned out to be a good movie. Srinu Vytla’s obsession with too many villains marred his previous movies, and yet he did not seem to learn.

Mickey J Meyer tunes work well with masses but background score is dull in chasing sequences. K.V.Guhan’s photography is very good, adding more grandeur to the rich production values. Editing by M.R .Varma is super crisp except for the pre–interval scenes.

Direction: Mani Ratnam

Producer: Dil Raju, Mani Ratnam and Shirish

Music Director: A.R. Rahman – Listen to music from Sony Music India

Duration: 2 hours 27 minutes

Director Mani Ratnam’s Telugu movie Cheliya, (also spelt as Cheliyaa,) starring Karthi and Aditi Rao Hydari, is the dubbed version of the much talked about Tamil film Kaatru Veliyidai.

Story:

Varun (Karthi) is a military pilot, who is held as a prisoner of war. He is very strong and softhearted but is very unsure inside. Being in prison, he recalls his romance with a local doctor (Aditi Rao Hydari,) who is vulnerable and fragile on the outside and determined and headstrong inside. How these two people with opposite characters gel forms the crux of the story.

Performances:

Karthi as military guy gave his ever best as an artist. Aditi Rao Hyderi has done equity to her part as an experienced artist, and the chemistry between her and Karthi worked out well and remains a highlight in the movie. Additionally, K.P.A.C. Lalitha, Shraddha Srinath, Rukmini Vijayakumar, R.J. Balaji as supporting characters did their best.

Plus points:

  • Story Plot
  • Karthi Aditi Rao Hydari On Screen Chemistry
  • Background Music
  • War Episodes

Minus points:

Little Story Dragging

Review: 100 Days of Love – Decent love story but boring

100-Days-of-Love

Director: Jenuse Mohamed

Cast: Dulquer Salmaan, Nithya Menen

Banner: Abhishek Pictures and SCC Movies

Music: Govind Menon

Editor: Sandeep Kumar

Producer: S Venkatarathnam

Plot:

Rao Gopal Rao (Dulquer Salman) is a features artist, aspiring cartoonist who is just figuring out to deal with a break up. One of those arid days, he accidentally sees and falls in love with Savitri (Nithya Menen). Rao Gopal Rao chases Savitri in the big world of Bengaluru but in the due course he happens to meet Rahul (Rahul Madhav) who warns him to be away from Savitri. However, RGR meets Savitri accidentally and discovers an old connection between them. Both RGR & Savitri eventually get closer but she chooses to get engaged to Rahul. How did RGR & Savitri end up – as friends or lovers? – forms the rest of the story.

Actors’ Performances:

Dulquer is a gem of an actor and he always shines in characters like ‘Rao Gopal Rao’. The name sounds vintage but he just any other sensible, sensitive, passionate creative guy-next-door.

Nithya Menen was no less! She was gorgeous and her character ‘Savitri’ was decent and dignified enough but could have been more intense and interesting.

And both of them strike a brilliant chemistry. But the guy who could grab your eyeballs with his personality and character is Shekar Menon as ‘Gummadi’ in the film. However Rahul Madhav, Vineeth and Praveena played brief and less significant roles.

Analysis:

Much against to the hype, 100 Days of Love is a simple and routine love story marred by a lackadaisical narrative. Director Jenuse Mohamed chose an urbane premise but fails to strike a chord in spite of a decent plot.

Guess what! Unlike the usual love stories we get to see in Telugu, this film has minimal characters but all of them are simple, sensible, sensitive and realistic. But it is the narration that affects the love story. It is devoid of the quintessential vigor, fun and emotional connect that can help you enjoy the film. A routine plot, conflict point and screenplay but the lack of an effective staging spoils the broth.

The characters and performances along with arresting visuals are the lone engaging elements in the film. But the screenplay fails to engage you right from the word go. The film keeps crawling…crawling eventually triggering you to check your WhatsApp/Facebook notifications/at least your phone lock screen once in a while. Now we leave it your imagination and intelligence!

Positive Aspects:

– Sparkling chemistry between Dulquer & Nithya Menen.

– Performances of the lead cast especially Dulquer, Nithya & Shekar Menon.

– Story and characterization.

– Cinematography

– Editing

Negative Aspects:

– Narrative especially Screenplay

– Lack of entertaining elements might disappoint the masses.

Music:

Songs by Govind Menon and back ground score by Bijibal might have served the wants of his director but not the script. The songs might not appeal to all the sections of the audience and the back ground score could have been livelier.

Verdict:

100 Days of Love is a simple, decent and routine love story which is marred by a boring narrative. But if you are accompanied by expectations, it can be 2hr 35mins of boredom!

Review: Aatadukundam Raa – Give a miss!

Sushanth's Aatadukundam Raa Movie First Look Wallpapers
Sushanth’s Aatadukundam Raa Movie First Look Wallpapers
Cast: Sushanth, Sonam Bajwa
Banner: Annapurna Studios & Sree G Films
Music: Anup Rubens
Editor: Gowtham Raju
Cinematography: Dasaradhi Sivendra
Producers: Chintalapudi Srinivasa Rao & Naga Susheela
Director: G Nageswara Reddy

Story:
Anand Prasad (Aanand) and Vijay Ram (Murali Sharma) are good friends and business partners. But due to the ploy of their opponents Shanta Ram & Somaraju (Posani), Vijay Ram loses his property and their friendship is broken. Years later, Karthik (Sushanth), the son of Anand enters into Vijay Ram’s life but with a mission. What is his secret mission and how did he reunite Anand & Vijay forms the rest of the story.

Actors Performances:

Sushanth: This young, promising hero who is desperate enough to score a hit has fallen prey to a brainless drama. Besides the usual routine, he tried out comedy with Brahmi but unfortunately that couldn’t leave us impressed.

Sonam Bajwa: Yet another heroine imported from no man’s land trying to act like our girl-next-door. Well this newbie also follows the regular protocol of ‘two romantic scenes & four songs’ which may not lead here anywhere.

While exceptional actors like Murali Sharma & Aanand were wasted, Brahmi, 30yrs industry Prithvi, Vennela Kishore and Posani comedy is also nothing but a squib.

The rest of the cast doesn’t even need a mention (and the makers are to be blamed)

Analysis:

We know family entertainers are the in-things and most producers and directors are keen upon making time pass entertainers mixed with family and comedy. Dumb families with relationship issues waiting to be resolved by a young hero (usually an NRI), a heroine in that family who is also waiting to romance the hero, a villain who is again waiting for the hero to become a clown and an eventual happy ending! In addition to this, Brahmanandam/30yrs industry Prithvi/Posani/Vennela Kishore or sometimes all of them together to entertain with ridiculous characters and a hilarious episode in some part of the film.

Aatadukundam Raa is also something similar except with some meat under the flesh. Writer Sreedhar Seepana and “comedy entertainer specialist” G Nageswar Reddy cooked a comedy entertainer with all the above ingredients but this time something that doesn’t work for us.

Two friends thick as thieves separate due to a misunderstanding, a villain who is happy and eventually rich by ruining their friendship and a hero (son of one of the friends) who wants to expose this and re-unite the friends. Let us put aside plot – its strengths and flaws, if the entire 2hr 13mins drama is all about the NRI hero fixing up these people with switch ON/OFF emotions is ridiculous enough, the entire second half relies upon the much hyped flagship comedy track of Brahmanandam – the ‘Time Machine’ track (similar to that of the ‘dream machine’ comedy track in Baadshah movie) which is yet another risky aspect.

Firstly, it is a gutsy attempt by the filmmakers who have extended this storyline in to a complete 2hr family entertainer. All said and done, it is a decently dressed colorful commercial film that qualifies enough to be a bearable drama which cannot kill you.

Positive Points:
Nothing worthy enough to mention.

Negative Points:
Story & the substance less comedy.

Music:
Akkineni family’s good friend Anup Rubens gives Sushanth yet another commercial album in which not even one song is striking (forget about situation and narration). The much hyped “Pallekupodam..” song remix is also a half-hearted one that finds no significance in the script or no added beauty in the picturization also.

Review: Babu Bangaram – One time watchable movie

9753_Venkateshs-Babu-Bangaram

Writer-Director: Maruthi

Cast: Venkatesh, Nayantara, Sampath Raj, Murali Sharma, Vennela Kishore, Prudhviraj, Brahmaji

Banner: Sitara Entertainments

Music: Ghibran

Editor: SB Uddav

Cinematography: Richard Prasad

Producer: S Naga Vamshi, PDV Prasad, S Radha Krishna (Presenter)

Story:

Assistant Commissioner of Police Krishna (Venkatesh) is a very soft hearted person. He cannot digest if anyone is in trouble. He does service to people whom he hits! He meets Shailu (Nayanatara) and feels very bad for her troubles. Her father absconds after getting stuck in a legal case and a group of goons are in search of him. She is stuck in lot of tensions which include police interrogation and problems in house.

Krishna understands her trouble and plans to help her without revealing his police identity. He falls in love with her eventually and the feeling is mutual. At this moment, she comes to know that it is indeed Krishna who is appointed to catch her father. Just then, her father meets with a fatal danger and Shailu moves away from Krishna. How does Krishna solve all these problems? What is the real problem Shailu’s father is facing?- forms the rest of the plot.

 Actors Performances:

Venkatesh: He looked dashingly young in this film. He is the biggest asset for this film and he tried his best to remind the audience of Bobbili Raja. Somehow, he couldn’t move that freely or was at good ease. Venky’s comedy was confined to expressions and histrionics but he was not at complete ease.

Nayantara: Nayan looked very beautiful in this film. She was neither an asset or a liability in the film but did her part decently well.

Others: The film gets bearable and entertaining thanks to two comedians Posani and Prudhvi. Prudhvi did a great job as Battayi Babji and his punches work well. Vennela Kishore was alright and there was very little scope for Brahmanandam.

Analysis:

The story would definitely remind the viewer of Nagarjuna’s old film Niryanam. Though the storyline of Babu Bangaram is old, Maruthi tried to add entertainment aspect to this. The aspect of hero being very sensitive and at the same time being a ruthless police officer might be new. But the director failed to implement it fully by adding novelty to it. First half features Prudhvi’s forced comedy as Battayi Babji and the director depended on Posani Krishna Murali in the second half.

When the story is weak, anyone has to depend on spoofs and comedy element. Nannaku Prematho spoof generates some good laughter. But once the comedy element is done, the film gets into the regular formulaic mode. Though it follows Gabbar Singh format in generating laughter for an action flick, the repetitive comedy becomes stale. First half goes well in entertainment mode but the second half drags down. Despite having artists like Posani and Brahmanandam, the second half comparatively gets bad.

Positive Aspects:

Venkatesh’s performance

Nannaku Prematho Spoof

30 Years Prudvi

Negative Aspects:

Poor storytelling

Second half

Technical Aspects:

The movie is technically rich with good camerawork but only one title song is catchy. The background music which resembles Bobbili Raja theme music was done well. Maruthi’s script work is below average and direction was also mediocre.

Review : Srirasthu Subhamasthu – Emotional Entertainer

Srirastu-Subhamastu-First-Look

Cast: Allu Sirish, Lavanya Tripathi, Prakash Raj, Rao Ramesh, Ali
Banner: Geetha Arts
Music: SS Thaman
Editor: Marthand K Venkatesh
Producer: Allu Aravind
Director: Parasuram

Story:

Sirish (Allu Sirish) is a rich guy and his father (Prakash Raj) doesn’t appreciate middle class families. He has very poor opinion on middle class people and girls hailing from that background. He also believes that middle class folks trap rich families in the name of love with the evil idea to snatch the properties.

His elder son (Ravi Prakash) marries a poor family’s girl and he doesn’t even talk to his daughter in law not even knows her name. Incidentally, Sirish also falls for a middle class girl (Lavanya Tripathi) and plans to disprove his father’s opinion. That is why he introduces himself to the girl as a poor guy. Will he succeed in doing so? What happens next?– forms the rest of the plot.

Star Performances:

Allu Sirish: There is definitely some improvement in his histrionics but his laughter was reserved but not full fledged. He is still having issues in dialogue delivery. There is lot to learn for him in the comedy department as well.

Lavanya Tripathi: Her role was intentionally trimmed in order not to dominate Sirish’s character but she scores well in the little scope of her role.

Prakash Raj, Rao Ramesh and Others: Unfortunately, Prakash Raj’s acting looked artificial this time and the makeup was overdone. Rao Ramesh did a natural performance and it was sad to see Sumalatha-an actress with good potential getting wasted. Ali tries to tickle a funny bone and Hamsanandini is confined to just songs.

Analysis:

The story doesn’t have much twists as it is a very well known story for Telugu Audience. The director tried to show novelty in the treatment but unfortunately he couldn’t succeed in it either. Some of the sequences in the film look baseless such as the hero forgetting his hometown and details after losing the purse. Hero’s characterization will remind the audience of films like Attarintiki Daaredhi.

The interval bang and climax look quite predictable. The second half also goes down in a pale fashion where the hero lands himself in the herione’s house. Movies like Parugu and Nuvvu Naaku Nacchav are remembered here. The climax has a Bommarillu kind of sequence between the hero and his father and Prakash Raj gave the same expressions to pull it off once again. How many times do we have to witness the scene where the heroine elopes from her wedding stage and choosing the hero?

Technical Aspects:

The production values by Geetha Arts are commendable. Thaman’s music is quite forgetful but the background score was pleasant to hear. The story is quite old and the director failed to create new impact with it. The film relies heavily on emotions which also failed to create good effect.

Positive Aspects:
Dialogues
Few Emotional Scenes
Rao Ramesh’s performance

Negative Aspects:
Routine story and screenplay
Climax sequence
