Guru sequel on cards?

Victory Venkatesh took his time and stepped out with his latest outing Guru which released during this summer. The movie has been raking decent figures across the Telugu speaking states though the film has been badly rejected by the US audience. Sudha Kongara Prasad directed the movie which discusses about the struggles and challenges faced by women boxers in the country.

Venky impressed the audience as boxing coach and it was his performance which took the film further. Sudha Kongara has been completely refreshed with the result of the film. It has been heard that she is in plans for the sequel of Guru and this time Rana Daggubati has been chosen to play the title role.

Sudha already narrated the outline to Venky and Suresh Babu however she is yet to get a nod from them. Though it is interesting to see Rana playing the lead, we have to wait and see how Venky and Rana’s characters will be related in the sequel. Sudha will prepare the final draft if she gets a nod from the Daggubatis.

It has been more or less a disappointment in terms of the much anticipated movie Katamarayudu featuring power star Pawan Kalyan. However, the cine buffs are now nursing their grief through the success of another movie. It is Guru featuring Victory Venkatesh.

This sports drama came silently and struck a chord with the audience. Right now, the collections are in good momentum. As per latest reports, the first weekend collections stood at Rs 12.2 crores gross worldwide and Rs 7.17 crores share worldwide.

 

These are very big numbers considering the movie and its branding. The gross of the Telugu states touched Rs8.8 crores while the share stood at Rs 6.1 crores. The trade pundits are predicting that the collections will be healthy for the coming weekend as well.

Thanks to the franchise of Baahubali, Young Rebelstar Prabhas received international recognition with one film. The second installment titled Baahubali: The Conclusion is all set for summer release and many top international brands are in plans to rope Prabhas for their commercials replacing many leading Bollywood actors.

The actor is said to have quoting Rs 10 crore for a commercial which is huge and surprising. It is quite common that Bollywood actors demand Rs 4-5 crores for an endorsement but Prabhas who has a special PR team in Mumbai has been quoting such huge figures.

He believes that the second installment will make him immensely popular and he is in plans to cash the craze even before. Playing the title role Baahubali, Baahubali: The Conclusion is directed by SS Rajamouli. Rana Daggubati, Anushka and Tamannaah played the other lead roles in the movie produced by Arka Media Works. The film is all set for release on April 28th in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi and Malayalam languages.

Whopping set erected for Balayya’s next

Nandamuri Balakrishna is currently shooting for his next movie in the direction of Puri Jagannadh. Touted to be a mass and action entertainer, the first schedule of the film has been wrapped up recently. The makers erected a massive colony set worth Rs 1.5 crores at the aluminium factory in the outskirts of the city.

The second schedule of the film kick-started today and some crucial episodes are being canned in the massive set. Balakrishna too joined the shoot and it will take place for couple of weeks. Amala Paul, Muskan and Charmee Kaur are the female leads in the film and Balayya will be seen as a gangster in the film.

There are several titles considered for the movie however an official confirmation on this is awaited. Balayya and Puri who are known for wrapping up things on a fast pace are teaming up for the first time and Puri promised a treat for Nandamuri fans with this flick. Anup Rubens is composing the music and V Anand Prasad is bankrolling this prestigious project on Bhavya Creations banner. The film has been announced to hit the screens on September 29th all over.

The talented filmmaker has been working round the clock for Baahubali: The Conclusion and he already revealed that he will take a break for the next six months only after which he will think about his next project.

However the speculations started about his next and many leading national tabloids started publishing that SS Rajamouli is all set to direct a Bollywood film next. The ace director who never works on two projects at a time will start and announce his next project only after he gets relieved from the work of Baahubali: The Conclusion. Rajamouli is said to direct Mahabharata soon however the project may not start rolling anytime soon.
