Mahesh’s SPYder breaks Baahubali VFX records

The final schedule of Mahesh Babu’s Spyder is currently underway in Hyderabad. Directed by AR Murugadoss, the spy thriller had Rakul Preet Singh as the heroine and SJ Suryah as the antagonist. The film was supposed to hit the screens in June, but was postponed to August due to the delay in the production activities.

As reported earlier, Spyder will have considerable amount of VFX effects. Acclaimed visual effects supervisor Kamalakannan, who is credited with numerous hits including the recent blockbuster Baahubali 2, is working for Spyder. Makuta VFX , the popular Hyderabad studio which worked extensively on Baahubali series, is currently busy designing the visual effects for crucial episodes in Spyder.

 It is learnt that the makers are leaving no stone unturned to make Spyder a technically strong film. They are spending ample time on the post production activities to bring the best output. This is said to be the reason for the delay in film’s release.

Ghazi art director on board for Mahanati

Shivam Rao, who wowed audiences and critics alike with his production design in India’s first submarine-based war drama “Ghazi”, has been signed on for upcoming bilingual drama “Mahanati”, a biopic on legendary southern actress Savitri. “Shivam is on board. I was mighty impressed by his work in ‘Ghazi’.

Our film too will be made on a big scale and it requires extensive art work, especially to recreate long forgotten era and his expertise will come in handy,” the film’s director Nag Ashwin told IANS. “It will be a magnum opus period film set in the golden era. With massive set pieces, the film will be unlike anything we’ve explored in Indian cinema,” he said.

Keerthy Suresh will play yesteryear star Savitri in the film, which also stars Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Dulquer Salmaan and Vijay Deverakonda. Talking about the project, Ashwin added: “Most of the pre-production work has been completed. We start rolling from this month-end. Mickey J Meyer has signed to take care of the music.” The film will be made in Telugu and Tamil.

Rana discloses about his wife in Baahubali

The fans of Baahubali might have got their answer as to ‘Why Kattappa killed Baahubali?’ post the release of the sequel, but there are some questions still unanswered.

One such mystery is regarding Bhallaladeva’s wife who was not mentioned in both the movies. In the first installment, Shivudu was shown killing Bhallaladeva’s son. Although nothing was mentioned regarding Bhallaladeva’s wife, fans hoped to see some reference in Baahubali 2.

However, director SS Rajamouli chose to skip the aspect completely. Rana Daggubati who played Bhallaladeva in the movie was quizzed regarding the same and the actor revealed that people can assume that Bhallaladeva’s son was a surrogate kid who doesn’t have a mother.

Baahubali 2 Hindi version is now inching closer to 400 crore-mark in India setting up a huge competition for the Bollywood actors.

Baahubali on a record breaking spree

Baahubali, which has become the first 1000 crore grossing Indian film in less than 10 days, is continuing it’s record breaking saga at worldwide box office. By making more than 300 percent profit, Baahubali 2 (Hindi) has now set an almost unbreakable record in terms of Return on Investment (RoI).

So far, the Rajamouli directorial has collected 375 crore from the Hindi version alone. It may be noted that the film’s acquisition cost was a mere 90 crore. The trade statistics tell us that the film made a whopping profit of 285 crore , resulting in an unbelievable profit of 317 percent.

Generally, small budget films which prove to be huge surprise money spinners, bring multifold profits. No high budget film has ever become as profitable as Baahubali did. Baahubali 2 is currently just 12 crore short of the lifetime collections of Dangal, 387 crore.

Going by the consistent pace Baahubali is progressing at box office, it is expected to dethrone the Aamir Khan starrer by today to emerge the new domestic highest grosser. The film will be decorated with more records like first 400 crore, 500 crore grosser etc. In coming few days.

Whopping price for Bunny and NTR’s film s Hindi rights

Prabhas and Rajamouli’s Baahubali-The Conclusion has brought a great national recognition to Tollywood film industry. Earlier, very few films used to be dubbed in Hindi but post Baahubali the demand for Telugu movies has been increased ever than before.

According to inputs, Jr.NTR’s Jai Lava Kusa and Allu Arjun’s Duvvada Jagannadham Hindi rights has been sold for an enormous amount of Rs.10 Crore and Rs.8 Crore

Rajamouli is riding high on the success of his recent magnum opus release Baahubali-The Conclusion. Many of the celebrities, and politicians have praised and congratulated Rajamouli for his vision and passion towards Baahubali 2.

Now, many of them are eager to know the details of Rajamouli’s next movie and as to whom he is to collaborate. Earlier, rumors were done the rounds that his next movie would be with Allu Arjun.

India’s big budget flick on cards

Allu Arvind, one of the top producers in the country, has joined hands with Madhu Manthena and Namit Malhotra to bring the epic tale of Ramayana to big screen. The big budget visual spectacle is going to be shot in three languages – Telugu, Tamil and Hindi, and released in three parts.

The film will also be shot in 3D. It has been a long time since Ramayana has been adapted into a film, and Allu Arvind, Madhu Manthena and Namit Malhotra are leaving no stone unturned to live up to the expectations from a film of this scale. It is also being touted as one of the highest budgeted films in India so far.

Talking about the ambitious project, Allu Arvind said, “It’s a huge responsibility, but the Ramayana needs to be told on the big screen in the most magnificent way possible. We are committed to delivering a spectacular extravaganza.” Currently, the team is putting together a terrific team of actors and technicians to make this film on international standards. The shooting is expected to begin in October or November this year. More details about the film will be announced shortly.

Unique title confirmed for Powerstar’s next

Powerstar Pawan Kalyan reunited with his favourite director Trivikram Srinivas for the third time after Jalsa and Attarintiki Daredi. The hit combination is currently working for yet another big budget entertainer which is progressing at a brisk pace in Hyderabad. Happening beauties Keerthi Suresh and Anu Emanuel are playing the female leads. The film is aiming for Dusheera release.

The latest update from film nagar sources is that the team is considering ‘Gokula Krishnudu’ as the film’s title. Also, they are mulling ‘Gopaludu’ as the second option for the title. Though the makers are yet to officially announce the title, sources say that one among these two titles is likely to be finalised very soon.

Earlier, a bunch of titles have been speculated in the media, but the team has rubbished them as rumours. Pawan Kalyan will be seen as a software engineer in the film which will have Trivikram’s trademark elements. Anirudh Ravichander is composing the tunes. S. Radha Krishna is the producer.
